Interview

Interviewer: Hello everyone, welcome to Buoyant magazine – this exclusive interview with James. James, I hear you’re into sport, what got you into sport?

James: What got me into sport was my dad, because he’s big into his cricket, which really got me playing cricket. We all started then going to Bridlington. We played a bit of cricket on the beach and that just triggered something. I just really wanted to play from then on.

Interviewer: I take it your favourite sport is cricket?

James: That is my favourite sport, yes.

Interviewer: Do you think athletes are overprepared for sports?

James: I think if you’re overprepared for a sport, you’ve got to do something like injure yourself. I think you need to just have at a certain point where you’re just ready.

Interviewer: What do you do to relax?

James: So, mainly after a cricket weekend, I still have to exercise because that just gets my mind out of the pressure. It kind of slips out of the cricket mindset to just relax.

ESPN is a sport website that gives the audience up to date information on the sport. ESPN has every sport news on there websites. ESPN website uses synergy to the magazine by always having the main story at the top. The top is very similar with the same colour and most of the context headings are the same however there is more headings on the website. All of the sport news is on the side where you it sends you to just that sport when you click on it.

The colour pop is used to show that heart. I like the colour pop because Female hand holding onto to heart show love and shows he is human. Opening himself up. The colour pop could have other meanings as it's red. the hand on the heart could mean that they don't want to let go of love. Red representation of a heart creates meaning for the audience

I like the way Contents is style is stylised because it stacked to represent that egos can't be contained. I like the way it's stacked because it's a unique. The font could have been stylised like that to make the cover stand out.

Masthead ideas

 Buoy: Linked to the floatation devices that show you where danger is and could be lurking. this magazine could tell you how to live life safely and have a safe lifestyle. Sounds like Boy, play on words makes us consider gender and what it means to be a boy or girl. The idea of the magazine is considering the lifestyle of men and women and how they can stay separate, have their own identity yet be together as a community.

For the masthead of my magazine I'm going to use the word Buoyant meaning cheerful and optimistic. Buoyant also means being able to float and rise to the top. the meaning of this masthead is that life is able to rise to the top and life is cheerful and optimistic for the target audience. The message of the magazine is to find ways  to make your life rise to the top and to be cheerful, in a world where individuals are lost amongst the many users, this magazine celebrates individual life choices. As I was searching for a masthead idea, I was searching for synonyms for happy because my magazine is about the positive things in life, positive stories, positive experiences, positive articles about people overcoming their struggles.

NEA Brief 2023

 Brief 1 Television and Online:

 Produce a 3 minute opening sequence of a new lifestyle programme for Channel 5 and 2 pages for the working website for the programme.

Lifestyle is the way a person lives, what we do in our day. Everyone does different things in their day. For example what time you wake up. what you eat, do you exercise, what do you do at a certain time. Everyone choses there own lifestyle.

The brief requires a statement of intent, opening sequence, broadcast channel and time, number of webpages and cross-media production target audience.












Brief 2 Radio and online: 

Produce a 3 minute opening sequence of a new celebrity interview programme for local commercial radio and 2 pages for the working website for the programme.

Stranger things trailer

 1. The trailer introduces the narrative by showing all the characters. The trailer shows the opening scene of Will running to his shed and getting a gun and shows the main parts of the tv drama.

2. The beginning of the trailer shows the 4 boys playing their game. Will is shown  and we find out that he is running away from this creature and mysteriously disappears. The chief of police if calm about the disappearance of Will thinking that he will be with a parent, however Will’s mum is really worried. Will’s friends are worried about will because they go looking for him 

3. The creature that Will is being chased by and his disappearance is the enigma shown because we are unsure what has happened to him 

4. The trailer is targeting teenagers and young adults.

5. Horror.

Stranger Things Fandom Merchandise and Marketing

Stranger Things super bowl 2017. 

The trailer at the the beginning is a homage to 80's with a classic tv advert.  This shows nostalgia to the older viewers.

The trailer adds a transition from the 80's tv advert to fuzzing where you don't know what you can see and don't know what is going on. This shows suspicion and links to the main thing of upside down theme. 







The upside down Netflix logo creates synergy because it links to recognisable branding that is mirrored in the upside down world and links to the super bowl display. This is also branded and linkage. Netflix relies on this show to create more revenue and gain popularity for the media stream and service




The neon light effect is a recognisable branding that creates synergy and also inspires more fandom with dedicated viewers. This makes the fans feel like there is something new. The 2 in the background is Neale's theory repetition and difference because it's the same style of font but the number 2 show that there is going to be difference.

1. The clues from these posters is that it might be quite scary. From this poster what might happen is that they are searching for someone or something. 

2. The science fiction genre has been presented in the poster by the unknown object at the bottom of the poster. In the background, it looks like they are in the wood and the trees are shaped like unknown creatures.

3. Enigma has been created by the thing at the bottom of the poster.

4. The poster includes the brand of stranger things by using the red colour and uses the same font
